The Certified Surgical Technologist facilitates invasive procedures by preparing and providing sterile instruments and equipment to the surgical team. They also assist with pre and post-procedure cleaning of the operating room and maintain strict aseptic technique.
Candidates must hold an Associate Degree, Vocational Certification, or Military Certificate in Surgical Technology and possess a valid certification such as CST, NBSTA, or NCCT. At least one year of perioperative or operating room experience is preferred.
