Under the direction of the Sustainability & Stewardship Coordinator, the Mountain Steward Technician will be part of a team that helps shape Bogus’ landscape and promote sustainable practices on the mountain.

How You’ll Make a Difference As a Mountain Steward, you’ll be part of Bogus Basin’s efforts to reduce waste, improve

Bogus Basins' flora, improve upon initiatives, and more! You’ll play a hands-on role in advancing the resort’s sustainability goals.

Requirements

 Essential Functions of the Job

· Noxious weed pulling and spraying throughout the mountain

· Recycling and compost sorting as needed

· Planting and seeding native flora in disturbed sites

· Assist with new and post construction invasive/noxious weed monitoring

· Maintenance of hiking trails

· Perform other duties as assigned.

What You Bring to Bogus Basin

· Some education in sustainability, environmental science, environmental education, conservation, leadership, or related field.

· Passion and basic knowledge of sustainability & waste diversion programs

· Must be at least 20 years of age with a valid driver’s license.

· Passion for the Bogus Basin Mission.

· Excellent verbal and written science communication skills.

· Desire to care for open spaces and the environment.

· Comfortable communicating with the public about sustainability initiatives.

· Background check required.

· Availability to work for the rest of the season (August-October)

Preferred Qualifications

· Ability to navigate on uneven terrain

Physical Requirements

· Lift and carry items up to 50 lbs.?

· Ability to work in uneven and variable weather conditions

· Operate vehicles including trucks and side by sides

· Handling hand tools, such as brush cutters and loppers.

Working Conditions and Schedule

· Majority of the time is outdoors, with variable weather conditions

· Full Time Seasonal (August-October) primarily Monday- Thursday with weekends and evenings as needed
