Manufacturing Engineer
Overview of the Role
As the Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting our Manufacturing process including, mechanical manufacturing support, commissioning new machines, operational support, and being the link between New Product Development and Manufacturing.
Who You’ll Work With
You will report to the Manufacturing Manager while working closely with Strategic Development, and Sales department to support manufacturing and product development.
Major Accountabilities
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve operational issues utilizing structured problem-solving techniques involving production tooling, equipment, and processes.
- Develops, evaluates, and enhances manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards.
- Confers with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Analyzes, recommends, and implements work force utilization, facility layout, and operational data, such as production costs, process flowcharts, and production schedules, to ensure efficient utilization of workers and equipment.
- Develop, propose, and implement continuous improvement activities that improve operational results.
- Devises, fabricates, and assembles new or modified mechanical components or assemblies for products, such as industrial equipment and machinery, power equipment, servo systems, machine tools, and measuring instruments.
- Facilitate feasibility studies and evaluations for the manufacturing of new or revised products on existing equipment.
- Provide operational support as necessary. This includes incoming inspection, equipment maintenance, maintaining documentation, ERP activities, fabrication of equipment, cost reduction projects, troubleshooting manufacturing processes, and working with vendors to improve manufacturability.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering, and;
- 7+ years of experience as an Engineer working within a manufacturing environment, or;
- Appropriate combination of education and experience.
- Demonstrated capability to use appropriate equipment for fabrication: milling, lathe, drill press, etc.
- Experience with CAD (SolidWorks).
- Strong communication skills, including written and verbal with the ability to prioritize multiple projects.
