The Healthcare Protection Officer is responsible for ensuring the physical security of staff, patients, and visitors while responding to emergency situations and workplace violence. They act as a subject matter expert on safety, lead de-escalation efforts, and collaborate with clinical leadership to mitigate security risks.
Candidates must have at least 3 years of experience in security, military, or law enforcement and possess a valid California BSIS Guard Card. A high school diploma or GED is required, along with the ability to pass a physical aptitude test and travel as needed.
As part of the Regional Security Services team, the Healthcare Protection Officer (HPO) is responsible for the physical and personal security for members, staff, and visitors within the health care client facilities. This includes responding to emergency situations, preserving order, and enforcing regulations related to personnel, visitors, and premises. Protects staff and property from theft or damage, or persons from hazards and interference, including the potential for violence in the workplace. The HPO will partner with security and clinical leaders to establish a unified care team to identify and mitigate security and workplace violence risks.
Travel required: Travel on an occasional basis with some overnight stays. Must have reliable transportation and be available for unplanned travel.
