As a major player in Luxembourg’s finance industry and as a signatory of the UN Principles of Responsible Banking, BIL is committed to handing over a responsible and sustainable bank to future generations.
One of the key missions of the Financial Crime Prevention (FCP) function
is to conduct independent and risk-based investigations to protect the Bank's
assets, reputation, and integrity, while ensuring compliance with Anti-Money
Laundering and Counter-Terrorist Financing (AML/CFT) regulatory requirements.
As a Financial Crime Prevention Analyst, you will play a pivotal
role in the detection, assessment, and investigation of potential financial
crime risks. This position requires strong regulatory knowledge, excellent
interpersonal skills, a genuine investigative mindset, and the ability to navigate
complex situations involving AML/CFT, reputational, tax, and other financial
crime-related risks.
Your next challenge:
Review,
assess, and investigate cases involving potentially suspicious activity
and financial crime concerns.
Conduct
enhanced due diligence, background checks, adverse media reviews, and
open-source intelligence research on prospects, clients, counterparties,
and transactional parties.
Analyze
customer profiles, account activity, transaction flows, corporate
structures, and supporting documentation to identify red flags and assess
potential risks.
Document,
structure, and synthesize investigative findings, presenting
well-supported assessment to the Compliance Incident Committee (CIC).
Gather and
compile all relevant information required for the preparation and
submission of Suspicious Transaction Reports (STRs) to the Financial
Intelligence Unit (FIU).
Draft
high-quality SARs/STRs based on comprehensive assessments of client
activity, transactional behavior, and overall risk exposure.
Act as a
key liaison with the FIU and support responses to regulatory inquiries and
requests.
Collaborate
closely with Compliance, Front Office, Credit, Operations, Legal, and
other stakeholders to support investigations and manage financial crime
risks.
Keep
abreast of evolving financial crime typologies, regulatory developments,
and industry best practices.
Your skills:
3 to 5
years of relevant experience in Financial Crime Compliance, AML/CFT
Investigations, Compliance, Risk Management, or a related field.
Proven
experience dealing with financial crime matters, suspicious activity
investigations, and high-risk client relationships.
Strong
understanding of AML/CFT regulations, financial crime typologies, and
investigative methodologies.
Knowledge
of banking activities, legal structures, financial products, and client
relationships is considered a strong asset.
Previous
experience in Front Office, Credit, Client Relationship Management, or
other banking functions would be highly valued.
Fluency in English
and French is mandatory.
Knowledge
of any additional European language would be considered an asset.
Proficiency
in Microsoft Office applications.
Strong
investigative mindset with a genuine interest in conducting research and
uncovering complex financial crime patterns.
Excellent
analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to connect
information from multiple sources and formulate reasoned conclusions.
Strong
synthesis and report-writing abilities.
Curiosity,
resilience, sound judgment, and the confidence to challenge when required.
Strong
communication and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to work
autonomously while also contributing effectively within a team
environment.
Highly
organized, proactive, and capable of managing multiple priorities under
pressure.
