Construct and repair upholstered furniture by attaching fabric or leather to wooden frames using a compressed air staple gun. Maintain safety standards while performing physical tasks like standing and lifting heavy materials throughout the day.
Requires at least 6 months of experience as an upholsterer in a production setting and the ability to work in a team environment. Candidates must be at least 18 years of age and capable of meeting physical demands including lifting up to 100 pounds.
An upholsterer will construct or repair upholstered furniture by covering the furniture frame with materials such as leather, cotton or suede.
Responsibilities:
· Attaches fabric/leather to the arms, backs, seats and outside backs to wooden frames using a compressed air staple gun.
· This job requires continuous stapling with one hand while pulling the material with the other hand to complete the sofa, loveseat, chair or ottoman according to specifications.
· Physical requirements are standing all day, bending, occasionally may have to lift 80 to 100 pounds.
· Follow all safety procedures while performing the position
Qualifications/Skills:
· 6 months or more of experience working as an upholsterer in a production setting
· Ability to work well in a team oriented environment
· Must be 18 years of age or older
