EVENTS TEAM LEADER

About the Role

Tradereach is looking for a dynamic, organised and hands-on Events Team Leader to join our team in Port Elizabeth. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading event teams, coordinating event activities and ensuring that all events are executed professionally, efficiently and to the required standard.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, has strong leadership skills and thrives on delivering exceptional event experiences.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, coordinate and supervise event teams on-site.
• Ensure events are set up, executed and broken down according to required standards and timelines.
• Allocate tasks and responsibilities to team members and monitor performance.
• Act as the key point of contact for the event team and clients during events.
• Ensure that all event staff are properly briefed before each event.
• Monitor staff attendance, punctuality, appearance and conduct.
• Ensure event equipment, branding and promotional materials are handled and maintained correctly.
• Coordinate the loading, transportation, setup and breakdown of event equipment where required.
• Resolve on-site challenges and escalate issues when necessary.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, health and safety requirements and client expectations.
• Complete event checklists, reports and other required administration.
• Provide feedback on event execution, team performance and any challenges experienced.
• Assist with training and mentoring new event team members.
• Work closely with the Events/Operations team to ensure successful delivery of events.
• Be willing to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and public holidays when required.

Requirements

• Matric / Grade 12.
• Previous experience in events, activations, promotions, hospitality, retail or a similar environment.
• Previous team leadership or supervisory experience will be advantageous.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organisational and time-management abilities.
• Ability to lead and motivate a team.
• Ability to remain calm and solution-focused under pressure.
• Reliable, punctual and professional.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
• A valid driver's licence will be advantageous.
• Willingness to travel and work flexible hours as required by events.
