The Inventory Processing Associate I is responsible for conducting warehouse operations efficiently, safely, and productively. This role works in conjunction with the warehouse team and management to load and unload, stock and pull, order pick, palletize, prepare inventory for sale and shipping, process inventory accurately, and recondition merchandise in the warehouse, as well as other warehouse and inventory control-related duties. This includes working with a team on inventory procedures and coordinating with all other departments for daily operational functions of the warehouse.

This is an inventory-centric position. Basic knowledge of warehousing and computers is required. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and takes ownership of their productivity targets. An average of 70 products or lots processed per day is required to meet productivity goals.

This is an entry-level opportunity well suited for individuals who are hands-on, comfortable working in a fast-paced warehouse environment, eager to build knowledge of professional audio/video equipment, and committed to producing accurate, high-quality work every day.

Inventory Handling & Processing

  • Accurately handle and process inventory items in accordance with department standards and operational procedures.
  • Ensure that all non-manufacturer markings, labels, stickers, or identifiers are removed from inventory items.
  • Communicate directly with the Department Supervisor concerning the status of ongoing photos and purchase orders.
  • Be accountable for your equipment, your work area, and the products you are handling.
  • Properly and safely use, maintain, and store all equipment and tools.
  • Maintain and develop familiarity with audio and visual equipment as a core competency of the role.

Reconditioning & Testing

  • Perform testing and reconditioning of inventory as directed by the Department Supervisor.
  • Identify damaged or defective inventory and report findings to management before the end of the shift.
  • Support photography workflows by ensuring inventory is staged, clean, and properly presented.

Warehouse Operations & Maintenance

  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized workspace at all times.
  • Dispose of trash and maintain a clear work area in accordance with company standards.
  • Perform all opening and closing duties as assigned in the weekly chore assignment.
  • Identify, report to management, and fix safety hazards in the workplace per AVGear’s safety policies.
  • Participate in and enforce AVGear’s safety policy.

Cross-Departmental Collaboration

  • Coordinate work with fellow team members across inventory, shipping, and adjacent departments.
  • During lulls or downtime within your department, assist efforts in adjacent departments to keep operations flowing productively.
  • Perform cross-department or additional duties as needed or assigned by management.
  • Support loading and unloading of deliveries as needed.

Professionalism & Compliance

  • Maintain confidentiality of AVGear business information at all times.
  • Adhere to all AVGear Policies and Procedures.
  • Report to work on time and ensure daily, weekly, and monthly KPIs are met; report any deficiencies to your supervisor via email before the end of each shift.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision after completion of departmental training.
  • Act in a professional manner at all times with team members, supervisors, and cross-departmental colleagues.

Performance in this role is evaluated based on the volume, accuracy, and quality of inventory processed. The following metrics define productivity expectations:

  • Daily output of 56–80 products or lots processed (7–10 per hour in a standard 8-hour shift).
  • Weekly processed volume of 280–400 products or lots; approximately 1,120–1,600 per month.
  • Accurate removal of all non-manufacturer markings, labels, and identifiers — zero tolerance for items shipped with unauthorized markings.
  • Timely communication of shortfalls, equipment issues, or workflow bottlenecks to the supervisor before the end of each shift.
  • Continuous improvement in speed and proficiency as knowledge of products, systems, and procedures increases.

Required

  • Self-starter with a strong work ethic and a team-player mindset.
  • Quick learner with a positive attitude.
  • Dependable and punctual — reliable, consistent attendance is essential to daily warehouse operations.
  • Experience with computers and a basic understanding of warehouse and inventory management.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move equipment up to 50 lbs regularly and stand or walk for extended periods.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

Preferred

  • Some experience in warehousing, inventory control, or a similar operations role.
  • Some knowledge of AudioVisual (AV) equipment.
  • Familiarity with inventory management systems or RF scanning technology.
  • Experience with picking, packing, reconditioning, or freight operations.
