Evaluate patients with respiratory insufficiencies to develop and implement tailored care plans. Monitor patient conditions, manage specialized respiratory equipment, and serve as an active member of the emergency resuscitation team.
Requires a Registered Respiratory Therapist credential from the NBRC and licensure from the Texas Respiratory Care Practitioners Certification Program. Candidates must have a BLS certification and a high school diploma with 2 years of experience, an associate degree, or 4 years of applicable experience.

Assessment & Care Planning: Evaluate patients with respiratory insufficiencies to determine the correct type and frequency of treatment, developing a tailored plan of care based on their specific diagnosis.
Implementation & Equipment Monitoring: Execute the patient care plan while managing, monitoring, and maintaining all specialized respiratory equipment and advanced care modalities.
Monitoring & Communication: Continuously monitor, record, and communicate changes in patient condition, treatments, and medication administration based on clinical outcomes.
Emergency Response: Serve as an active member of the emergency resuscitation team, responding promptly to all code situations.
Patient & Family Education: Educate patients and their families about their respiratory health conditions, while providing resources for community support groups and external programs.
