The Lead Hand directs the daily work of the crew, troubleshoots operational issues, and ensures the quality and quantity of work performed. They also report to the supervisor, maintain service quality, and perform hands-on tasks such as operating machinery and equipment maintenance.
Candidates must have previous relevant experience in a role such as a truck driver, shop employee, or equipment operator. The role requires strong communication skills, physical fitness to handle heavy lifting and outdoor conditions, and the ability to work effectively in a diverse team environment.

The supervisor/manager/foreman instructs the Lead Hand regarding the daily plan. The Lead Hand then works alongside the crew, directs their daily work, trouble shoots issues, problem solves and brings questions or concerns to the attention of the supervisor/manager/foreman. The Lead Hand is assigned responsibility for the quality and quantity of work carried out by the team to which the Lead Hand is assigned.
