Responsibilities
The technician is responsible for the day-to-day operation and maintenance of water recycling assets, including equipment at water treatment works. They will perform general repairs, investigate faults, and execute both planned and reactive maintenance to ensure asset reliability.
Requirements
Candidates must hold an NVQ Level 2 or 3 qualification in a mechanical or engineering subject or have completed a relevant apprenticeship. A full UK driving licence is also required for the role.

Starting Basic salary (plus standby & overtime payments): £39,520 for candidates with NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent in Mechanical/Engineering Subject) £35,360 for candidates with NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent in Mechanical/Engineering Subject)
Clear progression opportunities to earn up to £47,840 Basic with further training and experience
All PPE, tools, and fuel card provided
Permanent Full-time, with flexibility for part-time, 37 hours, 5-day working pattern including some weekends.
Location: Tilbury, Chelmsford, Grays, Brentwood and surrounding areas (must be with 40min drive to Tilbury)

Get ready to make a difference and join us as a maintenance technician, responsible for carrying out general repairs, investigating and rectifying faults and completing scheduled maintenance to ensure the reliability of our assets. This role is not just about doing a job, it has a real purpose; it’s about protecting our environment.
With support from a collaborative team, your mechanical knowledge will enable you to be responsible for the day-to-day operation and maintenance of water recycling assets – including equipment installed at water treatment works, as well as carrying out planned & reactive maintenance on our mechanical assets Experience working with mechanical control systems, telemetry systems, pumps, gearboxes and general mechanical/electrical plant maintenance would also be advantageous. This role is vital and will have a direct impact on the environment and communities that we serve.
What does it take to be a Wastewater Maintenance Technician?
To be successful in this role, you must have obtained an NVQ level 2 or 3 (mechanical/engineering) qualification (or equivalent) and/or completed a relevant apprenticeship and hold a full UK driving licence
