The Housekeeper/Guesthouse Attendant is responsible for cleaning and preparing guestrooms, maintaining common areas, and ensuring the property is well-organized. They also assist with guest amenities, report maintenance issues, and support various operational needs as required.
Candidates should be dependable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently in a small team environment. Previous hotel or housekeeping experience is preferred, along with the physical ability to perform tasks like lifting, bending, and walking for extended periods.

The Poppy Georgetown isn’t your typical hotel, and this isn’t your typical housekeeping position.
Located in the heart of historic Georgetown, The Poppy is an intimate, 15-room boutique guesthouse where thoughtful details, genuine hospitality, and a beautifully maintained environment are all part of the guest experience.
Because we are a small property, our team works a little differently than you might find at a larger hotel. We’re looking for someone who takes pride in creating clean, welcoming spaces but is also flexible, hands-on, and willing to jump in wherever needed.
On a busy day, you may be responsible for cleaning multiple guestrooms, or potentially all 15 rooms depending on occupancy and departures. On a lighter day, you may have fewer rooms and spend more of your time helping maintain our common areas, gardens, parlor, guest amenities, or assisting with other tasks around the property.

Previous hotel or housekeeping experience is preferred, but just as important to us is finding someone with the right attitude, work ethic and commitment to hospitality.
This position requires the ability to stand and walk for extended periods; bend, stoop and kneel; climb stairs throughout the guesthouse; push and pull housekeeping equipment; perform repetitive cleaning tasks; and lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
The Poppy Georgetown offers something different from a traditional hotel environment. With only 15 guestrooms, our team has the opportunity to pay attention to the little things and create a more personal experience for every guest.
