Full job description

About the Foundation:

The OpenClaw Foundation is the steward of the world's largest open source AI agent project. Its mission is grounded in a foundational conviction: that AI must be open, safe, and ultimately owned by the individuals and communities who use it.

The Foundation operates across three core mandates:

  • Advancing research into the human-agent relationship while continuously evolving the OpenClaw platform;

  • Maintaining and hardening the codebase to ensure security, reliability, and long-term sustainability;

  • Establishing interoperability standards for the emerging agent era, defining how agents configure, communicate, establish trust, transact, and represent user identity across ecosystems.

Modeled after the governance structures that shaped the open web and modern computing infrastructure, the Foundation serves as a neutral, multi-stakeholder convening body — the equivalent of W3C or the Linux Foundation for the agentic AI era. Major laboratories and infrastructure providers collaborate under its umbrella on shared, vendor-neutral infrastructure, with no single organization controlling the roadmap or direction.

The OpenClaw Foundation believes that individuals should have full sovereignty over their AI: their data, their interactions, and the behavior and personality of their agents. Open source is not incidental to this mission but central to it — code must remain free to use, modify, and build upon. The future of agentic AI will be defined by a broad, developer-driven community, not prescribed by any single commercial interest.

The Role

The OpenClaw Foundation is seeking a Technical Partnerships & Program Manager to serve as the technical bridge between the Foundation, its strategic partners, and the broader open-source community.

This is a highly cross-functional role focused on enabling successful technical collaboration across organizations. You'll partner closely with the Executive Director, Strategic Partnerships Lead, Engineering, Developer Relations, and Product teams to ensure organizations adopting, integrating with, or contributing to OpenClaw have an exceptional technical experience.

You'll guide partners through technical discovery, coordinate cross-functional initiatives, unblock complex engineering efforts, and translate ecosystem feedback into actionable priorities for the Foundation. You'll also help facilitate technical working groups and interoperability efforts that advance OpenClaw's mission.

If you enjoy solving complex technical coordination problems, working across organizational boundaries, and helping build one of the defining open-source AI ecosystems, we'd love to talk.

What You'll Do

Technical Partner Engagement

  • Partner with the Strategic Partnerships Lead and Executive Director during technical conversations with prospective Foundation members and ecosystem partners.

  • Understand partner architectures, AI infrastructure, deployment models, and technical objectives.

  • Evaluate technical fit and identify opportunities for collaboration around OpenClaw, interoperability, and emerging standards.

  • Represent the Foundation in technical discussions with AI labs, cloud providers, enterprises, research organizations, and developer communities.

Partner Enablement & Technical Collaboration

  • Serve as the primary technical point of contact for strategic ecosystem partners.

  • Help organizations successfully adopt, integrate with, and contribute to the OpenClaw platform.

  • Coordinate technical onboarding, architecture reviews, and developer enablement efforts.

  • Work alongside partner engineering teams and Foundation maintainers to troubleshoot technical challenges and remove adoption barriers.

  • Coordinate cross-functional execution across Engineering, Developer Relations, Product, and community contributors to ensure successful partner initiatives.

Technical Program Management

  • Lead complex, cross-functional technical initiatives spanning multiple internal teams and external organizations.

  • Develop project plans, coordinate milestones, manage dependencies, and proactively identify technical risks.

  • Drive partner-driven initiatives from planning through successful execution.

  • Ensure technical collaborations remain aligned, on schedule, and positioned for long-term success.

Ecosystem Feedback & Product Strategy

  • Gather technical feedback from partners, contributors, and community members.

  • Translate ecosystem needs into clear product requirements and engineering priorities.

  • Partner with Product and Engineering to improve APIs, SDKs, developer tooling, documentation, and interoperability.

  • Help inform the Foundation's technical roadmap based on real-world adoption and community feedback.

Standards & Community Collaboration

  • Support technical working groups focused on interoperability and open standards.

  • Facilitate collaboration across Foundation members, AI labs, infrastructure providers, and open-source contributors.

  • Help coordinate RFCs, technical proposals, design discussions, and cross-organization initiatives.

  • Represent OpenClaw at technical conferences, ecosystem events, and community meetings.

What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years of experience in Technical Program Management, Technical Partnerships, Partner Engineering, Solutions Architecture, Developer Relations Engineering, or a related technical role.

  • Experience coordinating complex technical initiatives across multiple teams or organizations.

  • Strong understanding of APIs, developer platforms, distributed systems, or AI infrastructure.

  • Comfortable engaging deeply with engineering teams and discussing technical architecture, integrations, and system design.

  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to drive execution across diverse stakeholders.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate between technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Strong organizational skills and a bias toward execution in fast-moving environments.

  • Willingness to travel periodically for partner meetings, conferences, and Foundation events.

Bonus Points

  • Experience working in open-source software or developer ecosystems.

  • Experience with AI infrastructure, agent frameworks, or developer platforms.

  • Experience at a technology foundation, standards body, or consortium.

  • Familiarity with open-source governance and technical community building.

  • Experience coordinating cross-company engineering initiatives.

  • Existing relationships within AI infrastructure, cloud platforms, or developer communities.

  • Passion for open-source AI and the future of agentic systems.

Success in Your First Year

Within your first 12 months, you will have:

  • Enabled successful technical onboarding for strategic Foundation members and ecosystem partners.

  • Established scalable processes for managing technical partner engagements and cross-functional initiatives.

  • Coordinated multiple successful technical collaborations across AI labs, infrastructure providers, and Foundation members.

  • Improved partner adoption through better documentation, developer tooling, and technical enablement.

  • Helped shape Foundation priorities by translating ecosystem feedback into actionable engineering initiatives.

  • Built trusted relationships across the OpenClaw ecosystem and become a key facilitator of technical collaboration and interoperability.
