Activities Therapist!
This position is responsible for planning, organizing and leading art therapy, music therapy, or recreational therapy activities on all units. The employee will work with patients whose abilities to manage usual activities of daily living are compromised by behavioral health problems. The delivery of Activities Therapy services includes patient assessment, formulation of a treatment plan, implementation of the plan, and documentation of all services provided.
Role Responsibilites:
Plan and lead therapeutic recreation and activity-based interventions that support patient treatment goals.
Complete patient assessments, maintain accurate documentation, and ensure timely recordkeeping.
Facilitate therapeutic groups using effective engagement and group-processing techniques.
Build therapeutic relationships with patients while promoting patient rights, safety, and well-being.
Communicate patient progress, concerns, and incidents to the interdisciplinary treatment team.
Maintain a safe, organized, and therapeutic environment, including monitoring equipment and supplies.
Collaborate with staff, patients, and families to support recovery and positive patient outcomes.
Participate in program development, performance improvement initiatives, staff meetings, and ongoing training.
Adhere to all facility policies, unit protocols, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications
Education:
Minimum bachelor’s degree in Music Therapy, Therapeutic Recreation, or master’s degree in Art Therapy.
Experience:
Previous healthcare experience in one of the above disciplines preferred.
Requires knowledge of psychiatric diagnosis and treatment practices relating to them.
Licensure:
Must be certified by profession’s credentialing board (either art, music, recreational therapy). Will maintain active CPR and CPI certification.
