 Join ASCI Federal as an Equipment Operator Trainer
Are you a seasoned equipment operator with a commitment to safety, operational excellence, and team development? ASCI Federal is seeking an experienced Equipment Operator Trainer to take on a multi-faceted role that combines training, operational expertise, and logistical coordination.

 

In this role, you’ll serve as the Master Trainer for all equipment training, including specialized operations such as aircraft towing. You’ll develop and deliver comprehensive training programs to equip employees with the technical skills, regulatory knowledge, and safety awareness needed to succeed. Working closely with Shift Managers and Safety teams, you’ll ensure adherence to federal regulations and company standards, setting the foundation for operational success.

 

Beyond training, you’ll actively contribute to daily operations as an Equipment Operator III, showcasing advanced skills by operating equipment such as forklifts, TUGs, and electric carts. Additionally, you’ll provide essential operational support as a back-up dispatcher, ensuring the smooth coordination of equipment and personnel to meet project timelines.

 

From mentoring On-the-Job Training (OJT) mentors to performing equipment inspections and audits, your expertise will play a critical role in maintaining a culture of safety, efficiency, and excellence across the organization.

 

 

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities: 

  • Training Program Development 
  • Develop and update training materials, manuals, and resources tailored to specific equipment types and operational needs. 
  • Establish clear learning objectives and performance benchmarks for equipment operation. 
  • Administer tests and practical evaluations to certify employees in equipment operations 
  • Implement Short Service Employee (SSE) Safety and Certification forms. 
  • Serve as Master Trainer for all equipment training, including Aircraft towing. 
  • Assist Shift Manager with yearly Training Audit. 
  • Employee Training. 
  • Conduct hands-on and classroom training sessions for new and existing employees on proper equipment usage, safety protocols, and best practices. 
  • Demonstrate equipment operation mastery techniques and address trainee questions or concerns. 
  • Observe and asses’ employees during equipment operation to ensure adherence to training. 
  • Provide constructive feedback and additional training as needed to address skill gaps. 
  • Communication and Collaboration.   
  • Work directly with Shift Managers to track and maintain qualifications and requirements. 
  • Work closely with Safety/Quality Managers to ensure all training meets Federal Regulatory Safety/Quality requirements. 
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in equipment operation and provide guidance on operational challenges. 
  • Operational Support 
  • Operate various equipment including forklifts, TUGS, electric carts as needed to support daily operations 
  • Functionally operates as an Equipment operator III, including performing advanced equipment operations as required. 
  • Perform Aircraft towing as required 
  • Dispatch Operations 
  • Utilize web-based dispatch systems to process requests, assign operators, and track work completion efficiently. 
  • Coordinate the movement of equipment and personnel, ensuring minimal disruption to customer project timelines. 
  • Operates as a backup dispatcher as needed. 
  • Mentoring and Observation. 
  • Supervises and collaborates with OJT (On-the-Job Training) mentors to ensure effective task observations and monitoring processes. 
  • OJT Mentors conduct task observations as part of training programs report through the Trainer for accountability and alignment with training objectives. 
  • Complete trip tickets as required. 
  • Conduct operational check of equipment used in accordance with FRCEAST Form 11200/2. 
  • Operate motor vehicles and equipment safely and in accordance with FRCEAST protocols. 
  • All rules and responsibilities listed in ASCI’s IMS Document - 07-IMS-003, IMS Structure Roles and Responsibilities. 

 

 

 

Minimum Qualifications & Experience: 

  • A minimum of seven (7) years of Equipment Operator experience.   
  • Working knowledge of database software. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in business management or supply chain management  
  • Experience may be substituted for the degree requirement on a 1:1 basis (two years of additional experience for complete degree replacement).  If experience is substituted, a High School Diploma, or equivalent, is required. 
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen. 
  • Valid Class C Driver’s License with a clean driving history, Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License preferred. Endorsements preferred include P-Passenger, X-Combination (Hazmat & Tanker). 
  • Oversize Load Escort certification required. 
  • Forklift certification required. 
  • Airfield Vehicle Operations certification required. 
  • Aircraft tow qualification certification required. 
  • GSE Equipment certification (as required by customer contract) required 
  • Ability to pass a government administered background investigation to be granted access to government systems and/or worksites.
