Perform field survey operations including Total Station and GPS surveys, lay-outs, and As-Built records for surface and tunnel control networks. Maintain and calibrate survey equipment while coordinating with engineers and subcontractors to ensure accurate project execution.
Preferred post-secondary education in Surveying, Geomatics, or Civil Engineering with approximately 2 years of construction surveying experience. Must possess a G Driver's License and the physical ability to lift up to 35 kg in a fast-paced construction environment.

The Assistant Surveyor works with the Field Surveyor or independently under the Survey Manager supervision.
Complete various field survey operations as assigned, including but not limited to:
Total Station accurate set of angles and high accuracy levelling lops for Surface and Tunnel control network.
Total Station/GPS surveys, lay-outs and As-Built.
Other surface and tunnel survey works as requested
Setup and configure survey equipment
Ensure equipment is maintained and calibrated
Helps maintaining and verifying the control network.
Maintain accurate survey notes and records, documentation, and stamped submittals.
Monitor work being completed in the field where surveying techniques are required
Communicate with operations, engineers, and subcontractors to complete assigned tasks
Manage As-Built information and digital records
Work Conditions:
The candidate should be able to work standard day shifts (M-F 7-5) and overtime, weekends, or night shifts as needed.
Able to perform in a fast-paced environment, under different weather and environment conditions.
Solid understanding of safety requirements on an active construction site and applicable safety policies
Post-secondary education in Surveying, Geomatics or Civil Engineering preferred but not mandatory.
Knowledge of survey practices and standards
Preferred 2 years’ experiencec in Construction Surveying including Control Networks.
Construction experience in Civil, Structural, Utilities and other areas preferred.
Good computer skills. Preferred proficiency in the use of survey data and office, surveying, and CAD software.
Good oral and written communication skills and organizational skills
GPS, total station (Leica Captivate preferred), and digital level experience.
Experience in AutoCAD and/or Bentley MicroStation is an asset.
Experience with Hydro One and Toronto Hydro specifications and standards is an asset
G Driver’s License with an acceptable record.
Ability to bend, stoop, reach and lift 35 kg/75 lbs. Physical labors are a part of this job.

This role offers an annual base salary in the anticipated range of $70,000–$90,000 CAD, with compensation determined based on experience, qualifications, and internal equity.
In addition to base salary, this role includes a total rewards package that supports employee well-being, development, and long-term growth, subject to company policies and applicable provincial employment standards, including:
