An Associate of Arts degree is preferred along with one to two years of experience in case management or transferable skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to drive a vehicle are required.

Since 1972, 4Cs of Alameda County has been a family resource organization dedicated to providing child care information resources and referrals, education, and payment assistance to children, families, and child care providers in Alameda County. 4Cs mission is to develop and coordinate resources to strengthen families and children. Job Title:         Child Care Services Specialist (Provider Services)
Department:    Provider Services Unit
Reports To:      Supervisor, Payment Programs
FLSA Status:   Full Time, Non-Exempt
Salary Range:  $28.84-$30.44 Per Hour


Position Summary:  The Child Care Services Specialist (Provider Services) is responsible for providing support to the payment portion of the CalWORKs program.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the following satisfactorily; other duties may be assigned. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
  • Responsible for the calculation of monthly attendance sheets of CalWORKs participants
  • Intake and processing of CalWORKs participants child care providers which includes explanation of policies and procedures
  • Responsible for researching reimbursement inquiries made by child care providers
  • Troubleshoot and resolve problems related to provider reimbursements
  • Responsible for ongoing projects, i.e. provider codes and rate worksheets, contracts
  • Responsible for setting up and maintaining provider files
  • Responsible for the data entry of information needed on monthly Alameda
  • Assists with processing and maintaining personal and confidential family and agency information
  • Responsible for keeping confidential information safe and secure
  • Perform other duties the Supervisor may assign

Transportation is required for this position.

Education/Experience:
Associate of Arts Degree preferred. One to two years’ experience in Case Management or other transferrable skills.

Language Ability:
Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Write routine reports and correspondence. Speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.

Mathematical Ability:
Work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability:
Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills:
Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office required. Proven experience utilizing social media platforms preferred.

Certificates and Licenses:
No certifications needed.

  • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally required to move around. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds
