We are currently searching for a Physician Assistant to work with one of our Providers at the OrthoCarolina Spine office location in Charlotte. This is a 100% clinic based role working with a OC Physiatrist.
Responsibilities include:
- Examination of patients, performing comprehensive physical examination, and compiling patient medical data, including health history and results of physical examination.
- Administers or orders diagnostic tests, such as x-ray, electrocardiogram, and laboratory tests, and interprets test results in collaboration with orthopedic surgeons/staff.
- Performs therapeutic procedures such as injections, immunizations, suturing and wound care, and managing infection. Assesses, applies and/or removes a variety of orthopedic casts, splints, and immobilization devices.
- Develops and implements patient management plans, records progress notes, applies appropriate codes and charges for service, and assists in provision of continuity of care.
- Dictates patient records including discharge summaries, history and physical evaluations, operative procedure notes, consultations and office visit notes. Documents patient information and care provided in patient record. Uses computer to access/enter needed data.
- Instructs and counsels patients regarding compliance with prescribed therapeutic regimens.
- Provides continuity of care by consulting with physicians and other staff as necessary for the delivery of quality patient care.
- Participates in research studies as conducted and agreed upon by the physician. Maintains all requirements and documentation for state licensure, DEA licensure, NCCPA certification, and hospital staff privileges.
Education required:
- Graduate of AMA accredited physician assistant program.
Experience required:
- Prior experience in the field of orthopedics
- Prior experience as a physician assistant
Current in the following:
- North Carolina PA license,
- Certification by National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants,
