The therapist applies clinical knowledge and evidence-based judgment to provide individualized patient care within an interdisciplinary team. They also serve as educators, mentors, and advocates for health and wellness while assisting with program planning.
Candidates must be graduates of an accredited Physical Therapy program and hold or be eligible for licensure in Minnesota. Board certification in a clinical specialty or an advanced healthcare degree is preferred.
Therapists are responsible for the application of current knowledge, theory, evidence and sound clinical judgment in patient management. The therapist works closely with the patient, family and other members of an interdisciplinary team to provide efficient and effective individualized patient care. Therapists also serve as advocates and promoters of health, wellness, and fitness to all stakeholders. They serve as educators and mentors for therapy students, peers and other medical professionals. The physical therapist assists with department and program planning.
