Responsibilities
The exam proctor is responsible for supervising students during examinations to ensure academic integrity and a distraction-free environment. Duties include verifying student identification, collecting personal devices, and monitoring for potential cheating or procedural violations.
Requirements
Candidates must be current Bradley University undergraduate students who are eligible for federal work-study. Applicants are required to complete FERPA training and demonstrate the ability to adhere to a set weekly schedule.
Bradley’s College of Liberal Arts and Sciences is seeking dedicated student workers to serve as exam proctors. In this role, student workers will be checking student identification, observing students during exams, and answering questions. Additional duties and responsibilities are outlined below.
Job Duties
Supervise without interfering
Answer setup questions but not content ones (e.g. time allowed, time remaining)
Check all student identification before handing students exam materials.
Collect phones/watches/etc. before handing students exam materials.
Note the start and end times for all exams.
Be observant while students are taking exams.
If a student is using materials not allowed by the instructor (see faculty instructions) please take the materials from the student, document the issue, note the questions that the student answered and then allow the student to continue the exam.
If a student appears to be using illicit materials, e.g. unusual attention to their hand, etc., please document your observations and if possible, take photos of the potential illicit materials before the student leaves the room.
If a student is allowed to use a note sheet the note sheet must be collected with the exam.
If a student asks a procedural question that cannot be answered the proctor needs to make sure that the faculty member is made aware of the question.
Additional responsibilities
Student proctors will be provided with a Bradley T-shirt to wear during their shift.
Proctors are not allowed to have other people in the room, outside of the test takers, during their shift.
Proctors are expected to give at least 1 days’ notice (within reason) if they will not be able to work.
Qualifications
Completed FERPA Training (link to training will be provided)
Ability to adhere to a pre-agreed upon schedule
Current Bradley undergraduate that is work study eligible
Thank you for your interest in employment at Bradley University. Some undergraduate students (with limited family resources as determined by the results of the FAFSA) qualify for Work Study funds to help offset college costs. This is a federally funded opportunity to earn "spending money" through part-time, on-campus employment. Eligibility for work-study does not guarantee you will find a campus job. Contact Financial Services for more information or to see if you qualify at 309-677-3089 or [email protected]
To Apply
Apply online via Bradley University HR/ADP and please submit a resume.
Please submit all materials at the time of application. If you need additional documents uploaded after you apply, please email them to [email protected].
