Making Possible

General duties:

• Complete a cleaning schedule for any communal areas and ensure they are kept to a high standard.
  Identification and reporting of repairs and hazards, order repairs as needed and monitor if necessary.
• Grass cutting, hedge pruning, plant maintenance, weed killer treatments and minor planting in communal areas.
• Undertake minor repairs as specified.
• Carry out set procedures as directed for the removal of domestic waste.
• Work with any refuse contractors to ensure waste is removed correctly.
• Arrange skips and the removal of bulk rubbish when requested.
• monitor the works of service contractors and repairs works carried out.

IT

• Checking all lifts and phone entry systems.
• Work with the onsite IT system CAFM via tablet/computer.

Security:

• Opening and closing the school, setting alarms, and acting as keyholder.
• Ensure the building is safe and secure at the conclusion of classes, examinations or functions etc.

Safety:

• Completing weekly checks on safety systems, i.e. fire alarms, intruder alarms
• Following child safeguarding rules.
• Complete protective measures and checks pre and post storm warnings.
• Regular Health and Safety checks on communal areas and raise or address any issues appropriately.

Reporting:

• All or any issues with the building or contents are promptly reported to your line manager.
• Report abandoned vehicles on site.

What do you bring to the role?

• A minimum of two years’ similar experience.
• Good level of general DIY repairs skills.
• Ability to deal with outside agencies regarding deadlines, costs, quality control.
• Problem solving skills.
• Full Current driving licence.
• Manual Handling.
• Awareness Health & Safety regulations and procedures.
• Ability to prioritise daily workload.
• Ability to work effectively with people from a wide range of levels and responsibilities.
• Works effectively as a team member.
• Ability to carry out physical labour aspects of the role.
