About the Team
Welcome to the LNG Analytics team, part of the wider ICIS Gas and LNG Analytics organisation. Based in Asia, our team is responsible for maintaining and continuously enhancing our LNG products, while developing and managing global LNG supply, demand, and gas datasets and forecasts. Beyond our analytical work, we represent ICIS as LNG subject matter experts at client meetings, industry conferences, webinars, and other commercial engagements. We work closely with colleagues across the wider Gas Analytics team to ensure our data, forecasts, and market insights are aligned, consistent, and deliver a unified view of the global gas and LNG markets. As a member of the team, you will have the opportunity to contribute to market-leading analysis, collaborate with experts across regions, and help shape the future direction of ICIS's LNG analytics offering.
About the role
This role will primarily focus on the China gas and LNG market, although you will also be expected to support analysis across other countries and markets as business needs evolve.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include monitoring market developments through news, industry contacts, and other information sources to understand key market drivers and events. You will gather and validate data to support market analysis, maintain and improve our datasets, and run internal forecasting models to produce monthly supply, demand, and price outlooks.
A significant part of the role involves producing high-quality analytical content. You will regularly write market insight articles, prepare presentations, and create clear data visualisations to communicate complex market trends effectively. Strong storytelling through data and visuals is an important aspect of the role. You will also respond to client enquiries on a regular basis, providing timely, accurate, and insightful market analysis.
Maintaining the integrity of our data is fundamental to everything we do. You will be expected to perform regular data validation, quality checks, processing, and clean-up to ensure our forecasts and analysis remain robust and reliable.
In addition to strong analytical skills, you should be comfortable communicating with both internal and external stakeholders. You will work closely with analysts and editors within the LNG Analytics team, as well as colleagues across other ICIS teams, to produce high-quality market analysis, news, and thought leadership that delivers value to our clients.
Responsibilities
To maintain existing LNG analytics products which includes forecast, LNG data processing and enhancements.
To drive ICIS analytics through analysis and content creation such as articles, presentations, research and white papers.
To work with wider teams such as editorial, sales, commercial in the common goal to pursue greater level of interest in ICIS products, thought leadership and content
To support existing clients queries and business use for ICIS products and services.
Requirements
Fluent in Mandarin and English
Bachelor/Master degree in relevant area
A motivated individual who can demonstrate their interest in the Gas & LNG market
Proven analytical and visualization skills
Attention to detail and high level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel
An independent thinker with a pro-active mentality. Curious to learn Gas and LNG market related happenings and how it all relates to each other
Excellent communication skills and an aptitude for building contacts and networks
Experience with forecast modelling software and methodologies would be an advantage
