We are seeking an experienced Lead/Senior Solution Architect & Developer to support the implementation and evolution of Claims and Motor insurance solutions. This role combines hands-on technical expertise with solution architecture and leadership responsibilities, ensuring that global software components are successfully integrated and adapted to local business requirements.The successful candidate will work closely with international teams, architects, developers, and business stakeholders to design scalable solutions, guide development activities, and drive high-quality software delivery within an Agile environment.

 

                                                  

Responsibilities

• Analyse global software components and assess their implementation within local Claims and Motor environments.
• Design and document solution architectures and technical specifications.
• Identify and define local enhancements and adaptation requirements.
• Lead and support distributed development teams across international locations.
• Provide technical guidance on ABS solution design, development, and integration.
• Promote best practices in software engineering, architecture, and development standards.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to align technical solutions with business objectives.
• Conduct and support code reviews, unit testing, and system integration testing activities.
• Ensure quality, maintainability, and scalability of software solutions.
• Drive architecture discussions and support decision-making across teams.
• Contribute to Agile ceremonies and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support the implementation of event-driven and microservices-based architectures.

 

Qualifications

Essential skills

• 10+ years of experience as a Lead Developer, Senior Developer, or Solution Architect.
• Minimum 3+ years of ABS development experience, preferably within the Claims File domain.
• Experience working within international and geographically distributed teams.
• Demonstrated ability to lead technical initiatives and mentor development teams.
• Strong understanding of software development lifecycle and Agile delivery methodologies.
• Java 17+ (Java 21 preferred).
• Spring Boot 3.x.
• REST API development and integration.
• Apache Kafka and event-driven architectures.
• Microservices architecture.
• Domain-Driven Design (DDD).
• Git version control and pull request processes.
• JUnit testing frameworks.
• Cloud platform knowledge (Azure and/or AWS).
• CI/CD tools, including Jenkins.

 

Desired skills

• Knowledge of ABS Business Layer, particularly within the Claims domain.
• Experience with ABS/CISL extensions and customisations.
• Understanding of ABS and CISLv2 core architecture.
• Experience with ABS Core Plugin development.
• Knowledge of OSGi and Eclipse Plugin development.
• Camunda workflow engine experience.
• Insurance industry experience, especially within Claims and Motor business processes.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Experience influencing technical decisions across multiple teams and locations.
• Ability to operate effectively within complex enterprise environments.
• Proactive, solution-focused mindset with a strong ability to drive outcomes.
