About this Position

Henkel Adhesives is on the search for a driven and commercially minded Account Manager to join our New Zealand team. In this role, you will contribute to the development and execution of growth strategies across the construction and industrial market segments, working closely with key distributor partners to drive sales performance, profitability, and long-term business growth.

As the key New Zealand contact for the Australia and New Zealand sales leadership team, you will play an important role in aligning local and regional priorities while managing day-to-day relationships with our exclusive distributor and selected distribution partners. This is a fantastic opportunity for a relationship-focused professional looking to take ownership of key accounts, influence commercial outcomes, and build a rewarding career with a global industry leader.

What you´ll do

  • Contribute to the development and execution of the New Zealand sales strategy, driving sustainable growth in revenue and profitability.
  • Manage the national distributor relationship, ensuring sales and margin targets are consistently achieved.
  • Plan and implement promotional and sales initiatives to increase market share, sales performance, and customer engagement.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with distributor partners, providing support, resolving issues, and identifying growth opportunities.
  • Collaborate with key distributors on strategic projects, including product range and SKU alignment initiatives.
  • Prepare accurate sales reports, forecasts, and market insights to support business planning and decision-making.
  • Work closely with supply chain and cross-functional teams to ensure product availability and maintain high levels of customer service.
  • Proactively manage supply-related matters, including forecasting, backorders, and inventory planning, while participating in integrated business planning processes.

What makes you a good fit

  • Strong experience in sales, marketing, and budgeting within a commercial or account management environment.
  • Proven background in retail or industrial account management, ideally working with distributor networks.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills with a strong understanding of customer and distributor needs.
  • Tenacious, proactive, and approachable with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships.
  • Strong leadership capability with solid project management skills and the ability to drive initiatives end-to-end.
  • Trade qualification is highly desirable, though not mandatory, with mechanical or technical training considered an advantage.

Some perks of joining Henkel

  • Flexible work scheme with flexible hours, hybrid work model, and work from anywhere policy for up to 30 days per year
  • Diverse national and international growth opportunities
  • Global wellbeing standards with health and preventive care programs
  • Gender-neutral parental leave for a minimum of 8 weeks
  • Employee Share Plan with voluntary investment and Henkel matching shares
  • Flexible Public Holiday
  • Company Products Allocation
  • Purchase of Additional Leave
