Description
What is parole? Parole is a way of letting approved prisoners serve part of their sentence in the community
once the Parole Board decides they are not an unacceptable risk to the safety of the community.
The mission of the Kentucky Parole Board is to make decisions that maintain a delicate balance between public
safety, victim rights, reintegration of the offender and recidivism.
The Administrative Specialist Sr for Parole & Victim Services provides professional support to the division
head and assists with various complex programs within the division. Are you our missing piece?
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Executes functions as they affect the administrative hearing programs by ensuring all parole board
sanctions are entered into the Kentucky Offender Management System.
Notify Offender Information Services,
Population Management and Probation and Parole of update to offender’s status in the system.
Manage and track
the participant until successful completion of sanction.
Interprets departmental policy to the public and departmental staff.
Answers departmental phones,
drafts and sends electronic communication and manages all forms of correspondence for the administrative
hearing section.
Acts as liaison for Probation and Parole and Classification to ensure offender is held for the
correct amount of time.
Schedules revocation hearings.
Collects, organizes and analyzes monthly and annual parole board
sanction statistics on participation.
Run reports on collected data.
Processes warrant requests in accordance
with offenders regarding House Bill 189.
Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION:
Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS:
Three years of professional, administrative, or business experience.
Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE:
Additional education will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION:
Additional administrative, business, research, and/or clerical experience will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

Incumbents working in this job title primarily perform duties in an office setting.
Probationary Period
This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
