In this role, you
will be responsible for coordinating, supervising, and ensuring the timely
execution of payroll activities for 1–2 countries (e.g., Germany, Ireland,
UK, Switzerland, or other). You will work closely with the client's payroll
team, managing escalations, monitoring process adherence, supporting compliance
tasks, and leading continuous improvement. Successful individuals in this role
combine operational excellence with a strong customer focus, proactive problem
solving, and the ability to maintain quality and control across the entire
payroll cycle.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure timely and accurate execution of all payroll activities for the assigned countries, according to defined deadlines, procedures, and statutory requirements;
- Coordinate and monitor the end-to-end payroll cycle, ensuring data inputs, validations, approvals, and outputs are completed correctly and on time;
- Oversee compliance tasks, including statutory submissions, audit support, process controls, reconciliation activities, and documentation maintenance;
- Troubleshoot payroll issues, investigate discrepancies, and work with cross-functional teams (client payroll teams, HR Market Lead, Technical teams) to resolve issues and define root causes;
- Lead continuous process improvement, identifying efficiency opportunities, enhancing controls, and supporting simplification and standardization initiatives;
- Monitor and maintain payroll governance frameworks, ensuring adherence to risk mitigation practices, documentation standards, and defined operational controls;
- Review and coordinate the application of SAP HRSP Notes (legislative updates, patches, corrections), ensuring proper testing and alignment with established process flows;
- Act as an escalation point for payroll-related issues, ensuring clear communication and prompt resolution;
- Collaborate with the client’s payroll team and internal stakeholders, ensuring a high-quality customer experience and consistent service delivery.
Experience & Qualifications:
- Proven 5–7 years of
solid experience as a Payroll Manager / Team Lead / Coordinator in at
least one or two countries (e.g., Germany, Ireland, UK, Switzerland, or
similar);
- Comprehensive
knowledge of payroll processes, including taxation, social insurance,
statutory submissions, and third-party interactions in the relevant
countries;
- Strong understanding
of the payroll process lifecycle, including when and how data must be
submitted to tax authorities and social insurance bodies;
- Experience managing
SAP process flows (e.g., legislative updates via implementation of HRSP
SAP Notes, new wage type configuration, benefits);
- Proven experience in
payroll governance, controls, documentation, and audit-related activities;
- Excellent command of
the English language (written and verbal);
- Strong communication,
organization, analytical thinking, and decision-making skillsq;
- Positive, proactive
mindset with strong ownership and a hands-on approach;
- Experience in multi-country payroll environments or exposure to international payroll operations is considered a plus.
