The Surgical Technician is responsible for assembling supplies, maintaining the sterile field, and passing instruments during surgical procedures. They also ensure the operating room is properly prepared and that instrumentation is cleaned and transported according to policy.
Candidates must have a High School GED and be a graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program or have two years of on-the-job experience in an acute care facility. Ability to follow oral instructions and wear specific personal protective equipment is required.

High School GED Plus a Graduate of a NBSTSA-accredited or a NCCT-approved Surgical Technology school/program, surgical/scrub tech training through the military, or a minimum of two years on-the-job training (OJT) surgical/scrub experience at an acute care facility or ambulatory surgery center.
Ability to follow oral instruction, read, and write
Additional Information:
Assembles supplies for surgical procedures, maintains the sterile field, passes surgical instruments, and assists in room preparation.
Ensures availability of appropriate instrumentation, supplies, and equipment for assigned cases.
Responsible for the preparation of the Operating Rooms
Ensures that the room has been prepared for the upcoming cases, with appropriate equipment available and ready for use.
Ensures that the instruments are cleaned, arranged, and transported to the soiled workroom according to department policy;
Independently assists with instrument reprocessing tasks when assigned cases are completed and time permits.
Ensures that the operating rooms are case-ready for the following day's cases.
Exhibits practical knowledge of OR equipment, including maintenance and safety aspects.
May perform other duties as assigned
