POST TITLE: Staff Assistant (TOPFAS Management)

1. Post Context/Post Summary
The Joint Logistics Support Group Headquarters commands and controls assigned logistic, engineer and medical units for the execution of JTF's operational level pian. The Plans Branch (PLANS) is responsible for tactical level mid- and long-term planning and the development of JLSG HQ tactical plans and orders. lt coordinates the JLSG plans and orders with higher, adjacent and subordinate levels, The Branch contributes to the operational planning, including participation in the Joint Operations Planning Group. lt coordinates JLSG HQ training and exercise preparation. The Plans Branch coordinates the JLSG contributions to doctrinal development in support of JFC, JSEC and other stakeholders. The incumbent is responsible for managing the Tool for Operational Planning Functional Area System (TOPFAS) being able to update and contribute to the system products, providing also JLSGNP HQ administrative support and real life support.
2. Principal Duties
The incumbent's duties are:
- Maintains and updates the Plans Branch related TOPFAS data.
- Provides advice on TOPFAS issues to the whole JLSGNP HQ.
- Provides limited training on TOPFAS when required.
- Manages routine information within the Plans Branch.
- Manages internal Plans Branch staffing of incoming/outgoing correspondence, management of Branch taskers and Branch calendar.
- Ensures actuality, integrity and completeness of information stored, published and distributed on behalf of the Plans Branch.
- Assists and support Branch Head and Section Heads to coordinate with other staff branches/sections.
- Supports in the organization of meetings, VTCs, conferences etc. of the Branch, including reception of visitors.
- Ensures administrative part of internal organization of the Branch and contribute to Real Life Support in preparation of and during exercises and operations.
3. Special Requirements and Additional Duties
The employee may be required to perform a similar range of duties elsewhere within the organisation at the same grade without there being any change to the contract.
The incumbent may be required to undertake deployments in support of military operations and exercises, and/or TDY assignments, both within and without NATO boundaries up to 30 days. The work is normally performed in a Normal NATO office working environment. Normal Working Conditions apply. The risk of injury is categorised as No Risk.
4. Essential Qualifications
a. Education/Training
Higher secondary education and competence higher vocational training in logistics, transport or related discipline leading to a formal technical or professional certification with 3 years function related experience, or secondary education and competence advanced vocational training in that discipline leading to a professional qualification or professional accreditation with 5 years post related experience.
b. Professional experience
Experience in activities that involve logistics management.
Experience developing plans and policy guidance to implement logistics management programs.
c. Language
English - SLP 3232 - (Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing)
NOTE: The work both oral and written in this post and in this Headquarters as a whole is conducted mainly in English.
5. Desirable Qualifications
Advanced knowledge of TOPFAS is required, with a minimum experience of 6 months.
Worked previously in a multinational or joint environment.

7. Contract
The successful candidate will receive a three-year definite duration contract which may be followed by an indefinite duration contract. NATO-serving staff members will be offered a contract in accordance with the NATO Civilian Personnel Regulations (NCPRs).
The basic entry-level monthly salary for a NATO Grade G10 in Italy is Euro 4,150.63 which may be augmented by allowances based on the selected staff member’s eligibility, and which is subject to the withholding of approximately 20%25 for pension and medical insurance contributions.
