POSITION OVERVIEW:
As part of a growing global Finance & Accounting team, the Senior Accountant will support accounting operations and month-end close activities across US, Canada, UK & EU India and other international entities within the Zema Global group.
This role is suited for a hands-on accounting professional with strong ownership mindset and experience operating in a multinational SaaS or technology environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in the month-end close process, revenue recognition, financial reporting, and multi-entity accounting activities while partnering closely with global stakeholders across Finance and the broader business.
This is not a transactional accounting role. We are looking for someone who has owned accounting processes end-to-end, can operate independently in a fast-paced global environment, and is comfortable working across multiple entities, currencies, and jurisdictions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Own full-cycle accounting activities across multiple global entities
Prepare and post general ledger journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations
Lead month-end close activities, including ownership of assigned close tasks, reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting deliverables
Own monthly management accounts, including variance analysis and supporting commentary
Perform revenue recognition activities in accordance with U.S. GAAP and ASC 606 principles
Reconcile deferred revenue accounts and maintain revenue-related schedules
Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations and cash reporting
Support sales tax compliance activities, including review and coordination of filings and registrations
Work within NetSuite ERP for accounting operations, reconciliations, reporting, and close activities
Collaborate with global stakeholders across Finance, Operations, and other business functions
Support audit requests and maintain strong internal financial controls
Contribute to accounting process improvements, automation initiatives, and system enhancements
Assist with multi-currency and multi-entity accounting operations across global subsidiaries
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Must-Have
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or CA, CPA, ACCA, or MBA qualification
4-7 years of progressive accounting experience within a SaaS, software, technology, or multinational environment
Strong hands-on NetSuite ERP experience, including GL accounting, reconciliations, reporting and month-end close activities
Proven ownership of full-cycle accounting and month-end close processes
Proven hands-on audit experience within an audit firm.
Practical hands-on experience applying U.S. GAAP in a professional accounting environment
Experience with revenue recognition, ideally within SaaS, software, or subscription-based business models
Experience working within multi-entity and multi-currency environments
Experience supporting global accounting operations and collaborating with international stakeholders
Experience supporting sales tax compliance processes and indirect tax coordination
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, reconciliations, and large-volume data handling
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
Strong verbal and written English communication skills
Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and operate in a fast-paced environment
Nice-to-Have
Experience within a scaling or high-growth SaaS organization
Experience with ASC 606 revenue recognition standards
Experience working with FloQast or similar financial close management software
Audit exposure or experience supporting external audits
Experience contributing to finance process improvements, automation, or system implementations
Prior exposure to global shared services or multinational finance operations
Experience partnering cross-functionally with teams outside of Finance
