Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our organization in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. In this pivotal role, you will oversee all quantity surveying functions for large-scale construction projects, providing strategic cost management, contract administration, and financial oversight. As a senior-level professional, you will lead a team of quantity surveyors, mentor junior staff, and serve as a key liaison between project management, clients, and contractors. Your analytical expertise and meticulous attention to detail will be essential in ensuring project profitability and compliance with contractual obligations.
Develop and manage comprehensive cost estimates, budgets, and financial forecasts for complex construction projects valued at AED 50M and above
Conduct detailed quantity takeoffs and cost analysis using advanced QS software and tools
Administer contracts, including variations, claims management, and procurement oversight
Analyze project performance against budgeted costs and provide regular financial reporting to senior management and clients
Lead and mentor a team of quantity surveyors, ensuring adherence to company standards and professional best practices
Perform risk assessment and mitigation strategies related to project costs and contractual obligations
Manage vendor and supplier relationships, negotiate pricing, and optimize procurement processes
Ensure compliance with Saudi Arabian construction standards, building codes, and regulatory requirements
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and architects to provide cost-effective solutions
Prepare detailed project documentation, including cost reports, valuations, and financial statements
Review and analyze tender documents, specifications, and drawings to ensure accuracy and completeness
Monitor project cash flow and provide forecasting analysis to support financial planning
Qualifications
Minimum 15 years of professional quantity surveying experience in large-scale construction projects
Advanced expertise in cost estimation, budgeting, and financial analysis
Comprehensive knowledge of contract administration and procurement processes
Strong understanding of construction methodologies, building codes, and industry standards
Proficiency with quantity surveying software (Bluebeam, Touchplan, Primavera, or similar platforms)
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with strong data analysis and modeling capabilities
Demonstrated experience managing projects in the Middle East, particularly Saudi Arabia
Knowledge of Saudi Arabian construction regulations and local building standards
Expertise in risk assessment, cost control, and value engineering
Strong leadership and team management skills with proven mentoring experience
Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills
Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex financial data and trends
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with FIDIC contract conditions and international contract standards
Project management certification or equivalent professional credential
Experience with Building Information Modeling (BIM) and integrated project delivery
Background in claims management and dispute resolution
Experience working with multinational construction firms
