Based in Manchester, this permanent role plays an important part in keeping our campus facilities running safely, reliably and to a high standard. You will help maintain and support the mechanical and HVAC systems that underpin day-to-day operations, contributing to a well-managed environment for colleagues and visitors across Manchester City. Please note this role involves occasional weekend/evening work to cover football fixtures and events.

Within our maintenance team, we look after the systems and spaces that help the site operate smoothly every day. We work with care, pace and accountability, bringing together practical expertise and collaboration to support a safe, reliable and high-quality environment across the campus.
The Role
At Manchester City, the maintenance team plays a vital part in keeping our buildings and plant in excellent working order. As HVAC Maintenance Technician, you will help deliver the maintenance services that support safe, efficient operations across all sites on campus, with a clear focus on standards, safety and reliability.
Your work will cover planned preventive maintenance, reactive maintenance and day-to-day inspection of heating, ventilation and air conditioning assets. You will respond promptly to breakdowns, fault-find carefully and support minor installation, upgrade and adaptation works where needed.
Working closely with other trades and Maintenance Managers, you will contribute to planned maintenance and life cycle schedules for the buildings on site. This is a hands-on role where good judgement, teamwork and a consistent approach all help keep the campus operating at its best.
What You’ll Bring
NVQ Level 3 in HVAC, Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent qualification
Experience working in a complex maintenance environment
Sound knowledge of AHUs, chilled water, water systems and air conditioning units
Experience carrying out planned preventive maintenance and reactive maintenance
Ability to diagnose faults and respond safely to breakdowns
