About the location:

Perched on a rocky promontory high above the Ionian Sea, the iconic San Domenico Palace welcomes you to a 14th-century convent reimagined. Swim in our clifftop infinity pool, stroll in magnificent Italian gardens, soak in the history, savour Michelin-starred dining and escape into a Four Seasons world of timeless beauty.

About the role:  

 Reporting to the Restaurant Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring an exceptional welcoming experience to our Guests. Responsibilities will include coordinating Guest reservations and responding to inquiries, reviewing the reservations to organize the best table allocation. You will ensure you develop a complete knowledge of all menu items and daily specials, support the set-up of the room, maintain a station chart and cover count for the restaurant while recognizing capacities of our servers, prepare bills and ascertaining Guests’ satisfaction.

 

What you will do: 

  • Set up host/hostess stand, review Guest reservation book, and make recommendations as to the set-up of the room, maintain a station chart and cover count for the restaurant while recognizing the maximum workload capacity of each server in order to meet Four Seasons Service standards.

  • Answer telephones according to Four Seasons standards and take guest reservations or provide information regarding the restaurant or any other hotel service

  • Anticipate the needs of Guests, respond accordingly to nquiries or problems, and recognize regular Guests by name and utilize the their name consistently.

  • Inspect and maintain daily menus to ensure quality, condition and appearance while developing a complete working knowledge of all menu items and daily specials

  • Making sure that all the reservations have been linked with Key.

  • Making sure that all Guests’ F&B preferences are in Golden.

 

What you bring: 

  • High school education or equivalent experience.

  • Six to twelve months of restaurant, food and beverage or equivalent experience is required. Previous experience in luxury hotels and/or fine dining restaurants or restaurant groups. International experience would represent an asset.

  • Working knowledge of the restaurant aspect of Four Seasons services, policies or operations and general knowledge of the hotel. Working knowledge is generally learned on the job.

  • Knowledge or the ability to operate computer equipment and the reservations system.

  • You should have attention to detail, strong interpersonal and relationship building skills, the ability to multi-task with excellent organizational skills, be a team player and bring your personal touch and energy to our guest experiences.

  • Reading, writing and oral proficiency in the Italian and English language.

Schedule & Hours:

  • This is a full-time position

  • The candidate must have a flexible schedule and work also on weekends and holidays.

This position is based at the San Domenico Palace in Taormina and the contract is seasonal. You must possess the legal right to work in Italy.
