Japanese Graphic Designer

About the Role

We are looking for a talented Graphic Designer with strong visual communication skills, a keen eye for detail, and a passion for both digital and print design. This role will focus on delivering diverse design solutions for our client in the pharmaceutical industry, supporting their omni channel strategy with rapid content adaptation and execution across multiple platforms.
The ideal candidate should have expertise in graphic design, layout, typography, and branding, with experience in designing engaging digital and print assets such as brochures, banners, websites, interactive PDFs, and e-learning modules. A thorough understanding of brand consistency and storytelling is essential.
Additionally, basic HTML and CSS skills (or an eagerness to learn) are highly valued. Knowledge of responsive web design principles, JavaScript/jQuery, Webkit animation, and CRM platforms like Veeva or OCE would be advantageous. Experience with HTML5 Ad Banners and Emailers is a plus.

Key Responsibilities

• Designing diverse digital, on-line web/ mobile and print deliverables such as Visual-Aids, Websites, Brochures, Snippets, Posters, logos, Web Banners, Interactive PDF’s, E- learning Modules & Covers for products and services.
  
• Execute on the creative direction and design concepts, develop artwork for a variety of multichannel deliverables and can communicate ideas.
  
• Ensuring consistency of brand and program identity throughout all stages of project execution and creative development.
  
• Apply responsive design principles and web technologies (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript/jQuery) to enhance digital assets.
  
• Thorough understanding and ability to closely follow the branding/asset guidelines and apply them to designs.
  
• Develop frames and graphics as per client brand guidelines and meet the quality metrics as per client requirements.
  
• Good hands-on knowledge of the tools, techniques, software, knowledge of multiple media and apply them in developing creative outputs as required
  
• Capability to create color palettes and stylesheets in alignment with provided guidelines.
  
• Assist in developing creative assets tailored for omnichannel strategies.
  

Skills and Experience

• Should possess 4-7 years digital and print design experience ideally including User Interface design, with a mix of agency and client-side experience.
  
• Significant expertise with Full Adobe suite: Photoshop, XD, Illustrator, InDesign and additional platforms such as Figma, JIRA and Sketch a plus.
  
• Should possess excellent design skills and sophisticated use of colour and in-depth domain knowledge.
  
• Basic knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript/jQuery, Webkit animation, and Responsive Web Design (RWD) using media queries.
  
• Working knowledge of video editing and ideally motion graphics/SFX - Adobe Premiere Pro and preferably also After Effects is beneficial.
  
• Should be experienced in providing direction, leading a team and reviewing work.
  
• Strong attention to detail, structured approach, timeline-driven and adherence to design processes.
  
• Should possess good oral and written communication skills with the ability to multitask.
  
• Educational Background – Graduate/Post-Graduate with relevant years of experience.
  
• Preferably Fine Arts Graduation.
  
• Basic knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript/jQuery, Webkit animation, and Responsive Web Design (RWD) using media queries.
  
• Familiarity with/working knowledge of UI/UX Design would be a distinct advantage.
  
• Experience creating interactive and visually compelling experiences for iPad, iPhone, and other mobile devices.
  
• Understanding of CRM or CMS platforms (preferably Veeva, OCE) and familiarity with HTML5 Ad Banners and Emailers.
  

Minimum Requirements

• Graduate/Post-graduate with relevant years of experience. Preferable experience in Graphic Design, Fine Arts, or a related field preferred.
  
• Japanese level N1 or Native Japanese level is preferred.
  
• Experience in pharma or a similarly regulated industry is advantageous.
  
• Candidate should reside commutable the local city Japan, as this will likely be a work from home and occasional office hybrid position.
  
• Should be proficient with Business Japanese and English and native oral and written fluency.
