Regional Risk and Compliance Business Management Team provides accurate and timely insight to Asia and Middle East (“Regional”) and Hong Kong Risk and Compliance leadership team and stakeholders to enable decision making, to drive changes and streamlining initiatives to enhance efficiency, quality, and control in operations through simplification, automation and adoption of AI technologies.  The role will manage and coordinate strategic initiatives and activities supporting regional and Hong Kong Risk and Compliance leveraging centralized CoE services, and ensure the execution of global, regional and Hong Kong driven programs on the ground by working with Global R&C COO, Global R&C Sub-Function Performance and Delivery, Regional and Hong Kong Group Infrastructure teams. This role is also a key change driver in delivering business change activities, simplifying existing processes, facilitating the implementation of automation technologies, and promoting the adoption of AI. The role will require collaborative work in a dynamic environment and call for the ability to prioritize multiple conflicting demands on time and resources, and influence senior management and articulate clear justifications for business management initiatives and to get it done.

In this role you will:

• Drive and coordinate regional business change initiatives across Asia supporting simplification, automation and AI adoption within Risk and Compliance.
• Act as a key regional coordinator across Global R&C COO, Global R&C Sub-Function Performance & Delivery, regional/in-country teams and relevant infrastructure partners.
• Coordinate with Global R&C COO, Global R&C Sub-Function Performance and Delivery to support the monitoring of cost and resourcing trends for Region and Hong Kong. Leverage the global capability and reporting provided by Global CAO.
• Support Head of Business Management and Head of Performance & Delivery Asia & Middle East in the execution of their responsibilities.
• Coordinate with regional Risk and Compliance Control Office to ensure proper review and continuous monitoring on Performance and Delivery owned risk (on behalf of the Asia R&C) and controls (Data, Business Continuity Planning, People, etc.).
• Third Party Management (internal and external) on Asia and Middle East Risk and Compliance Performance and Delivery owned engagements. Monitor performance and ensure service / performance level agreements are set correctly and honoured from both as a Service Provider (i.e. HK Servco) and Service Recipient.
• Coordinate and liaise with Hong Kong Corporate Services to enable the embedding of hybrid and new ways of working, including the optimisation of workspace utilization for all HK based roles.
• Provide ad-hoc support to regional leadership on execution priorities (e.g., planning, coordination, communications,), as required.
• Encourage and enable constructive cross-country and cross-function teamwork by collaboration, challenge actions and behaviours that are not consistent with HSBC values, policies and those not in the best interests of the business and our community

To be successful you will need:

• Strong change and transformation mindset to drive simplification and automation
• Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies (e.g.  Lean, Six Sigma, Agile/Project Management)
• Experience in business management, transformation, or program management, strong knowledge on process redesign and automation experience
• Experience in optimising business processes within Finance, Risk, Compliance, and other functions or businesses.
• Equipped with financial and accounting acumen.
• Ability to communicate, influence and negotiate effectively with senior stakeholders and across the Bank in-country, Regional and Group. 
• Ability to articulate complex and sensitive information and situations in meaningful and concise ways 
• Ability to prioritize conflicting demands and problem solve
