Full job description

Xyzagen (ZiZaGen) is seeking a quantitative scientist with strong analytical and problem-solving skills to join our growing Pharmacometrics team. This position is ideal for a recent graduate or early-career scientist who is passionate about drug development, enjoys solving complex biological problems, and thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

As part of our team, you will perform analyses across a diverse portfolio of drug development programs while gaining broad exposure to non-clinical and clinical development, regulatory science, and quantitative modeling.

About Xyzagen
Xyzagen is a contract research organization (CRO) specializing in pharmacokinetics, ADME, bioanalysis, pharmacology, and non-GLP safety studies in rodents. We also provide strategic drug development and regulatory consulting across nonclinical and clinical pharmacokinetics.

Over the past eight years, we have partnered with more than 100 biotechnology and pharmaceutical innovators worldwide, helping advance multiple FDA-approved therapeutics. Our clients range from NIH-funded startups to mid-sized pharmaceutical companies and venture capital-backed organizations. In addition to client services, Xyzagen conducts internal research focused on Kv7 channel openers for neurological disorders and pain.

We are currently expanding our laboratory and office space from 5,000 to 11,000 square feet, creating new opportunities to support the growing life-science community and expand our scientific capabilities.

Why Join Xyzagen?
Our multidisciplinary team helps clients make better decisions through:

  • Cost-effective, data-driven drug development strategies
  • Rapid execution of nonclinical pharmacokinetic and safety studies
  • Integrated support spanning laboratory research, pharmacometrics, and regulatory consulting

At Xyzagen, you'll work on a wide variety of therapeutic areas, molecular modalities, and modeling challenges while contributing directly to client success.

Job Responsibilities
As an Associate Scientist, Scientist, or Senior Scientist in Pharmacometrics, you will:

  • Develop and apply pharmacometric models to characterize drug behavior and biological responses
  • Analyze and interpret complex biological, longitudinal, and pharmacological datasets
  • Support client projects through quantitative modeling and simulation
  • Contribute to regulatory documents, study reports, statistical analyses, and study protocols
  • Collaborate closely with professionals across regulatory affairs, clinical pharmacology, bioanalysis, and project management teams
  • Present analysis results for internal teams and external clients
  • Adjust the model complexity according to client needs, which offer various opportunities to work across a broad range of projects and therapeutic areas.
We're Looking for Someone Who
  • Is eager to learn every stage of the pharmaceutical drug development process
  • Enjoys quantitative problem solving and scientific modeling
  • Works well independently while collaborating effectively within multidisciplinary teams
  • Has strong communication and presentation skills
  • Is proactive, organized, and motivated by scientific challenges

Qualifications:

  • BS, MS, PhD, or PharmD in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Biomedical Engineering, Engineering, or another quantitative discipline with applications to biological data
  • Relevant industry or closely related academic research experience
  • Strong background in mathematical modeling, statistics, and nonlinear systems
  • Experience with one or more scientific software packages such as Python, R, Phoenix, Phoenix NLME, NONMEM, Prism, or similar tools
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects
  • Position level (Associate Scientist through Senior Scientist) will be based on experience and qualifications.
