The General Production position is responsible for assisting with the safe and effective operation of extruders, railcar unloaders, and blown film lines. Responsibilities include performing routine quality checks, maintaining departmental documentation, and assisting with equipment maintenance and housekeeping.
Candidates must possess a Grade 12 diploma or equivalent and have at least 6 months of experience with hand tools. Applicants should demonstrate basic mathematical skills, a good aptitude for machines, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Winpak Division is currently hiring for the General Production Position based out of Winnipeg on the 12-hour rotating shift. Reporting to the Operator or the Shift Supervisor/Lead hand, the General Production position is responsible for assisting with the safe and effective operation of the railcar unloaders, resin pelletizers, and blown film lines.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist Operators with preparing all orders for the shift to minimize non-productive time and production scrap.
Support the operation of extruders, with a focus on the manual aspects of machine operation.
Learn to operate extruders through competency-based training programs and direct Operator instruction.
Assist with routine and basic maintenance of equipment, including assembly, disassembly, and cleaning.
Perform routine quality checks to ensure product standards are met.
Complete departmental documentation as assigned.
Maintain a high standard of housekeeping within the department.
Operate forklift equipment safely and efficiently.
Perform core cutting as required.
Assist with pelletizer operations.
Support railcar unloading operations (outdoors).
Participate in weekly resin inventory counts.
