Responsibilities
Oversees clinical operations and ensures a safe, high-quality environment for patients and staff. Performs direct nursing care and manages emergency protocols and staff coordination during shifts.
Requirements
Requires an active RN license in Washington, an associate degree in nursing, and at least 5 years of inpatient/acute nursing experience. Must obtain BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NRP, and FEMA certifications within specified timeframes.

Activates emergency management protocols during internal and external disasters and serves as temporary incident commander until team is assembled and roles are assigned.
Maintains familiarity with and working knowledge of Safety Data Sheets (SDS) on-line system.
Demonstrates knowledge of infection prevention & control plan, complies with standard precautions and aseptic techniques, coaches staff to compliance.
Locates, distributes, and utilizes personal protective equipment as applicable.
Follows infection control plan, cooperates with required testing.
Reports exposures promptly and seeks assistance for care/follow-up.
Possesses a familiarity with the hospital environment of care codes including appropriate responses.
Patient Care
Facilitates and/or performs the duties of the second RN during Labor and Deliveries in the Family Birth Center, as necessary.
Performs direct patient care within scope of RN practice act and according to organization policies and procedures, when needed, in the Nursing Departments.
Ensures that nursing practice is safe, effective, efficient, equitable, timely, and person-centered.
Incorporates evidence into nursing practice to improve outcomes.
Documents nursing care in a timely manner, including pre- and post- assessment of patient’s response to interventions.
Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of errors.
Demonstrates knowledge level necessary to assess patient’s psychosocial, educational, and physical needs, and the knowledge and skill to address these needs in an age-appropriate manner for all age groups.
Responds quickly and appropriately to emergency situations.
This position is primarily worked in a clinical and office environment. This may include irregular working hours including weekends and on-call responsibilities. Travel to off-site locations for meetings, education and training may be required. The position will frequently require walking, lifting, reaching carrying, kneeling, bending, stooping, pushing and pulling of objects weighing up to 20lbs. The position will occasionally require the ability to lift, and carry, up to 50 pounds and push or pull over 50 pounds, as well as require bending, twisting, squatting, reaching, reaching overhead, sitting and standing frequently. Occasionally the position requires climbing, kneeling and crawling. The position requires continuous finger dexterity and fine manipulation. All basic life functions such as hearing, seeing, speaking, standing and walking are required.
The employee must demonstrate the ability to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
