Responsible for printing substrates using highly automated equipment and performing regular quality inspections via microscope. Tasks include setting up printers, creating screens, and packaging finished products.

Requirements

Requires a high school diploma and previous industrial experience, preferably in a printing environment. Candidates must be able to follow strict operating procedures and handle physical demands including standing and lifting.

Summary:

This position is responsible for printing substrates using highly automated equipment in a unionized team environment.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Set-up printers and related equipment.
  • Perform regular quality inspections under a microscope at the required frequency.
  • Create screens for the printing process using established procedures.
  • Perform thickness and resistance testing at required frequency and record results.
  • Inspect finished product using a video microscope.
  • Count and package finished product.
  • Other job activities as assigned.

 

Essential Education, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Experience:

  • High School Diploma required, previous industrial work experience preferably in a printing environment
  • Ability to learn all printer setup functions and perform those tasks in the required timeframes.
  • Ability to learn and effectively use thickness meters and perform bench resistance testing.
  • Familiarity with blueprints and FIFO (first in first out)
  • Ability to consistently identify good product vs. product that does not meet specifications – eye for detail is required.
  • Ability to read and follow operating procedures (IOP) and environmental health and safety procedures with no exceptions.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.

 

Equipment Used:

  • Computerized production equipment, variety of small hand tools including but not limited to soldering irons, torque wrenches, pliers, scissors, handheld tape dispenser, box cutter (utility knife), magnification tables/scopes

 

Personal Protective Equipment/Clothing Required (PPE):

  • Safety glasses with attached side shields; ESD smock and grounding equipment
  • Heat resistant and/or cut resistant gloves – based on workstation
  • Hairnets
  • Disposal nitrile gloves/finger cots as required
