The Chemical System Operator monitors and analyzes electroplating processes, waste treatment systems, and chemical solutions to ensure product quality and equipment operation. They are also responsible for conducting chemical tests, drafting laboratory reports, and ensuring compliance with environmental and safety regulations.
Candidates should have familiarity with manufacturing processes and experience in electroplating finishing. An Associate or Bachelor degree in Chemistry is highly preferred, along with at least five years of related experience.
Description
The Chemical System Operator is responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and determining required adjustments necessary for the process control of the electroplating processes, waste treatment systems, and chemical solutions used in the manufacturing environment.
Requirements
Must have familiarity and/or experience with the manufacturing process.
Ability to work independently and be self-motivated.
Must show good analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Must have thorough attention to detail.
Ability and willingness to work with hazardous chemicals.
Knowledge of pumps, mixers, and mechanics is helpful.
Background in electroplating finishing is helpful.
Associates/Bachelors Degree in Chemistry or similar degree highly preferred.
At least five years of related experience preferred. Although completion of on-the-job training may be substituted for educational requirements.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods working on feet and performing repetitive actions that entail frequent bending and stooping.
Prolonged periods of standing, pushing, pulling, lifting, and carrying materials.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
Must wear all required PPE and safety equipment for various tasks.
Exposure to various chemicals and compounds.
