Waikiki Health is seeking a full-time housing associate.
Pay rate for this role is $19 - $22 per hour (depending on experience)
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 3:30 PM – 12:00 AM, 40-hours work week

Summary of position: The Housing Associate’s primary responsibility is to ensure the safety and security of clients and employees at the Keauhou Shelter and Family Assessment Center. The secondary responsibility is to engage clients, develop professional rapport to facilitate compliance with shelter rules, and responsibilities at Keauhou Shelter. The duties of this position require the handling and management of confidential proprietary and consumer health information. Consequently, the primary responsibility of this position is to safeguard, protect and maintain the confidentiality, integrity and availability of all proprietary and consumer health information at all times. Failure to fulfill this primary job responsibility in accordance with Waikiki Health policies and procedures governing the confidentiality of proprietary and consumer health information data shall be grounds for disciplinary action up to and including immediate dismissal.
Qualifications and abilities
- High school diploma or GED required. Experience working in a homeless shelter setting or related field preferred.
- Must be able to work flexible hours (day, evening, overnight) any day throughout the weekday and/or weekend
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and have basic computer skills
- Must be organized and able to complete all assigned tasks
General Duties include but are not limited to
- Ensuring the safety & security of clients, staff, and volunteers
- Monitoring inside and outside the shelter property in person regularly
- Assisting volunteers with passing out meals during breakfast, lunch, or dinner
- Assist Job Training Participants with daily responsibilities
- Communicate effectively with individuals who have substance abuse issues,
mental illness or at times both (dual diagnosis) - Other duties as assigned
