Voluntary Action Center is seeking a Part-Time Meals on Wheels Driver to join our team serving the Peru, IL area. This position is scheduled to work Mon, Wed and Friday 7 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. a week.
As a Meals on Wheels Driver, you’re more than a delivery driver you are the friendly face and daily check-in our clients rely on. Your work helps reduce isolation and ensures individuals receive the nutrition and care they deserve.
What You’ll Do
Deliver meals to clients’ homes using a designated route
Load and transport meals following established procedures
Provide friendly, respectful interaction with every client
Observe and report any concerns regarding client wellbeing
Serve as a mandated reporter for suspected abuse or neglect
Support kitchen or site operations as needed
What We’re Looking For
Compassionate, dependable, and service-oriented individuals
Strong communication and customer service skills
Ability to work independently and manage a daily route
High school diploma or GED required
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
Ability to pass a background check and physical exam
Comfortable handling confidential information with discretion

Let us cater your next event and in return, you’ll be helping provide nutritious meals to the homebound. 100% of all profits from Premier Meals Catering support Meals on Wheels, providing nutritious meals to the homebound in our community for over 20 years.
