We are currently looking for a Frog Fitter - Fabricator to join our team in Cheyenne, Wyoming.
PURPOSE OF POSITION
The Frog Fitter - Fabricator is responsible for assembling pieces, and welding railway components using a heavy machinery that emits high heat.
Task and Responsibilities:
Able to operate grinder, welder and power tools
Proficiently assemble assigned frogs in a timely manner
Able to finish grind, weld, fit and assemble steel, iron, and manganese track work related products as specified
Able to grind filler blocks, fit standard and mag-tip switch points and other miscellaneous track-work related products such as switch clip assemblies
Read and follow the production schedule
Safely operate jib and overhead cranes
Routine clean up work area
Able to work with little supervision
Adhere to Nortrak’s Safety, Quality and Environmental Procedures, Practices and Policies
Perform other duties as assigned
Job Requirements (e.g., education, experience, skills and desired competencies)
High School graduate or GED preferred.
Experience in welding and grinding operations is an asset.
Experience in Forklift and Crane operations is an asset.
Ability to read work orders and blueprints preferred.
Experience with measuring equipment preferred.
Basic mathematical calculation experience in adding and subtracting whole numbers, fractions and decimals.
Physical Demands:
Frequent standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, climbing, and pushing, pulling, or lifting objects for the duration of your required schedule shift.
Use hands and arms to operate tools, handle materials, and reach for the duration of your required scheduled shift.
Regularly lift and carry 30–35 pounds; occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
Required vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
Hearing abilities necessary to perform job tasks safely and effectively.
