Contingent upon Contract Award and Funding
Purpose:
Valkyrie Enterprises is seeking two detail-oriented and analytical part-time Research Analysts to join our team in Camarillo, CA.
The ideal candidates will gather, analyze, and interpret data to support decision-making and operations for the NSWC Port Hueneme Division (NSWC-PHD) Counterfeit Material Prevention Program (CMPP). This role values strong research abilities, critical thinking, communication skills, and the capacity to manage details under pressure in a collaborative environment.
These are contingent, part-time positions with an anticipated start date of mid-September 2026. Both positions are contingent upon the availability of direct government funding to support these roles.
Job Description:
Assist CMPP management with decision-making, policy formulation, and other managerial functions, including basic data analysis and support for optimizing counterfeit prevention methods and processes.
Utilize Content Management Systems, Learning Management Systems, and/or related tools to organize and maintain CMPP case records, supplier information, and program documentation.
Support development and maintenance of models related to supply chain risk, counterfeit materiel prevention, reliability, or program evaluations through data collection and basic analysis.
Conduct research and data collection from various sources including supplier databases, deficiency reporting systems, government-industry data exchange resources (e.g., GIDEP), reports, market trends, and internal records to support counterfeit materiel case intake, triage, and authorized-supplier verification.
Analyze quantitative and qualitative data to identify patterns, trends, and actionable insights in support of counterfeit risk assessment and case prioritization.
Prepare clear reports, summaries, presentations, and visualizations to communicate CMPP findings to stakeholders and command leadership.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (including leadership, government stakeholders, vendors, and campus/professional networks) to support CMPP project goals and strategies.
Maintain accurate and organized records of research data, methodologies, case documentation, and project timelines in support of auditable program execution.
Manage logistics, timelines, and risk considerations for events or project deliverables involving multiple stakeholders.
Qualifications:
Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent; current enrollment in or completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, IT, Business, or a related field strongly preferred (e.g., B.A. Mechanical Engineering) and at least 1 year of experience in roles demonstrating analytical thinking, organization, customer service, or team coordination.
Must be comfortable assisting with decision support, detail tracking, and cross-team coordination.
Must be strong and proficient with Microsoft Office, Generative AI tools for Workflow Optimization, and basic data organization tools.
Desired Qualifications:
Academic or extracurricular experience resulting in practical strategies for business growth, economic analysis, technology transition support, or local/community impact, preferred.
Leadership in event planning, risk management, or large scale team environments, preferred.
Exposure to financial accounting, data trends, or process optimization through coursework or activities, preferred.
Familiarity with supply chain integrity, counterfeit prevention, quality assurance, or DoD/Navy policy (e.g., DoDI 4140.67) is a plus.
Security Requirements:
Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance (with potential upgrade to Top Secret).
Must be a U.S. Citizen with a valid Driver’s License.
Travel Requirements:
Up to 20% travel (international and domestic) depending on program needs.
Ability to obtain and maintain appropriate credentials (e.g., REAL ID) for domestic flights or secure facilities.
If position requires travel by domestic flight or access to secure federal facilities/military bases, candidate must be able to obtain (no later than position start date) and maintain appropriate identification credentials, such as REAL ID. (More information regarding REAL ID can be found: https://www.dhs.gov/real-id).
Physical Requirements:
Remaining in a stationary position, often standing, or sitting for prolonged periods.
Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.
Ability to move up and down ladders and sleep onboard Navy vessels in berthing compartments and/or staterooms.
Communicating with others to exchange information and repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
Pre-Employment Requirements:
Any offer of employment with Valkyrie Enterprises is contingent upon the successful completion of all applicable pre-employment requirements. Depending on the position, these may include a criminal background investigation, employment and education verification, pre-employment drug screening, driving record review, security clearance eligibility, government installation access, and any other customer or contract-specific requirements.
