The Career & Internship Center has an outstanding opportunity foran AssociateDirector-Coaching Operations to join their team.
About this Opportunity
Reporting to the Director,theAssociate Director-Coaching Operationsis responsible forleading the career coaching team.Our career coaches support students and recent graduates in exploring careers and securing internships and jobs through virtual and in-person 1:1 and group services; produce content for our interest and identity pages; create and revise resources to align with current student needs and labor market trends; and so much more. The person we hire into this role will provide guidance and operational support to the coaches as they carry out their work, make decisions about what types of student-facing resources we need, and serve as a critical member of the center’s executive leadership team.
This rolewill serve on the UW Seattle campus andis eligible for up to 40% (2 days) of telework per week, depending on staff, employer, and student needs, but will work mostly in-person during theinitialtraining period.
Key Responsibilities
Management of Coaching Operations(65%)
Personnel
Provide supervision to a team of approximately 4 staff career coaches and provide program oversight for 1-4 peer career coaches.
Cultivate a community of practice so coaches can learn best practices from one another.
Provide leadership during staff and peer coach hiring, onboarding, and training.
Vision & Direction
Establish, communicate, and execute overall vision for coaching operations.
Decide how much of which services to offer based on student need and staff capacity.
Help coachingteamevolve and adapt to meet the needs of an increasingly diverse student body, complex campus career services landscape, and evolving world of work.
Logistics
Facilitate detailed scheduling and calendaring tasks for our in-house workshops/webinars.
Facilitate decision-making and delegation of workshop requests made by campus partners.
Troubleshoot backend issues related to the Appointments module in Handshake.
Ensure coaching services are recorded accurately in Handshake.
Run and analyze student usage reports of coaching services.
Design and implement assessments of coaching team effectiveness and impact.
Resources
Stay abreast of labor market trends andcoachingbest practices.
Create and update online content such as blogs, resources, recordings, and more.
Lead efforts to ensure our student-facing web pages are discoverable, current, dynamic, and accessible.
Center Leadership(20%)
Helpestablishvision, create policies, and make funding decisions with the center director and associate director.
Provide second opinions, thought partnership, and pushback on an array of issues during executive leadership discussions and decision-making.
Facilitate collaborations between the coaching team, other areas of the office, and other offices on campus.
Help elevate and integrate career concepts in variousfacetsof the undergraduate experience.
Direct Service(15%)
When possible, fill behind coaches who are out unexpectedly to reduce impacttostudents.
In peak times, coach individuals through15/30 minuteappointments on an array of career topics.
Occasionallyfacilitateworkshops, give class talks, moderate panels, and present at orientations.
Contribute to the instruction and management of our Career Exploration & Planning course.
As needed, help with front desk coverage, career fairs, and other center operations.

Bachelor’s degree.
Four or more years of career coaching experience, preferablyin a higher education setting.
