DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
The Plant Engineering Department at the UW Medical Center – Northwest helps UW Medicine fulfill it’s mission to improve the health of the public by ensuring general maintenance and repairs are completed efficiently and quickly to maintain a safe patient care environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs routine maintenance, repair and troubleshooting work throughout the hospital.
Completes work orders in a timely and efficient manner and communicates completion of work order to the requestor and Senior Lead Engineer.
Performs preventative maintenance on electrical, mechanical, and structural systems.
Facilitates quality and professional grade repairs.
Identifies potential maintenance and safety problems and notifies the Facilities Manager of all such hazards and recommends repairs as appropriate.
Acts as a project coordinator with outside vendors.
Utilizes safe work habits and maintains work area in an orderly manner.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or GED
3rd Grade Boiler license from the City of Seattle
2+ years maintenance experience
Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and/or registration.
