Provides professional medical diagnosis and treatment for inmate patients and injured employees while overseeing all medical department operations. Manages unit health services activities, ensures regulatory compliance, and supervises physicians and mid-level practitioners.
Requires a current license to practice medicine by the Texas State Board of Medical Examiners and a current DEA controlled substances registration. Candidates must be able to obtain security clearance and pass a pre-employment drug test.
