Responsibilities
The Peer Tutors organize and host weekly group tutoring sessions for first and second-year medical and PA students. They also provide individual one-on-one tutoring sessions upon request throughout the academic year.
Requirements
Applicants must be current JSSOM MD or PA students in good academic and professional standing with no history of professionalism issues or course remediations. Previous experience in teaching, tutoring, or mentoring is preferred.

Minimum Qualifications: Students interested in applying must be a current JSSOM MD or PA student in good academic and professional standing. Indicators of good standing include:
No history of professionalism issues.
No course remediations.
Score of 70 or higher on all course exams.
Performance feedback from JSSOM faculty and/or staff may be considered.
Previous experience with teaching, tutoring, or mentoring is preferred.
MD Eligibility: rising MS2s, rising MS3s, and rising MS4s.
PA Eligibility: rising second years (PAS-2)
Students who currently have a UTMB GA, TA, or Federal Work Study position are ineligible to hold the tutoring position.
Job Duties: The MD and PA Peer Tutors are part-time, with the expectation that they will work a minimum of 5 hours per month. They organize and host weekly group tutoring sessions for MS1, MS2, and PA-S1 coursework throughout the academic year. They also hold one-on-one tutoring sessions as requested by MS1, MS2, MS3, and PA-S1 students. The position runs through the academic year.
Salary Range: Commensurate with experience
