Requirements
Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in project coordination or executive support. Strong organizational skills, proficiency in Microsoft 365, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a research or complex environment are essential.
Join TERN Australia in a purposeful and collaborative role supporting nationally significant environmental research infrastructure. As Operations Support Officer, you will provide high quality operational, communications, project and executive support across a diverse portfolio of activities, working closely with senior leaders and a geographically distributed team to help deliver outcomes that strengthen Australia’s ability to monitor, understand and respond to environmental change.
Key responsibilities will include:
Coordinating secretariat and administrative services, including project relevant committee meetings, activities, engagements, travel arrangements and visitor support.
Supporting the delivery cycle for TERN Australia initiatives, including project planning, milestone monitoring, reporting, evaluation and communications activities.
Reviewing and reconciling project transactions, tracking expenditure and contributing to accurate, timely financial reporting.
Providing executive assistance to the Director, TERN Australia, and helping coordinate stakeholder communications, including newsletters and webinar support.
About You
You are a highly organised and proactive professional who enjoys variety, takes pride in delivering quality outcomes, and thrives in a collaborative, purpose driven environment. With strong administration, project coordination and communication skills, you can confidently support multiple priorities while contributing to nationally significant environmental research outcomes.
A Bachelor’s degree with relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of experience and education/training, along with demonstrated experience supporting projects, operational activities or executive functions.
Proven ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines and maintain exceptional attention to detail in a fast paced environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare reports, communications materials and build productive relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
Demonstrated experience coordinating operational or project activities, including monitoring progress, maintaining records and supporting the delivery of key outcomes.
Strong organisational and administrative skills, with experience providing high quality executive, office or operational support.
Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and the ability to quickly learn new technologies, with experience in a university, research, government or similarly complex environment being highly regarded.
