About the Role

Working closely with Simulation Technicians, Assistants, academic and professional staff, this role provides technical support for clinical simulation activities and laboratories across the School of Nursing, as well as providing general administrative support.

You will play an important role in supporting simulated clinical environments where nursing students develop and practise real-world clinical skills in a safe, structured setting.

Key responsibilities:

  • Set up and support clinical simulation sessions, ensuring everything runs smoothly from start to finish
  • Keep simulation equipment maintained, organised and ready for use, troubleshooting issues as they arise
  • Liaise with technical officers to maintain operational efficiency


About the Team

This role will support the two Technical Officers currently based in the Liverpool Nursing Simulation Labs, assisting with the effective operation of the facilities and the delivery of simulation-based teaching activities to ensure classes run smoothly and efficiently.

The School of Nursing is identified as a provider of high-quality professional education and contributing to the generation and dissemination of knowledge within a research-intensive university. The Bachelor of Nursing program is offered at six delivery sites including, Wollongong, South- Western Sydney, Shoalhaven, Southern Sydney, Batemans Bay and Bega. In addition, we have an expansive post graduate portfolio with degrees in Nursing, Mental health, Dementia Care and Health Leadership and Management.

Role Details

  • Employment type: Permanent/Ongoing | Part-time (0.4 FTE, 17 hours per week)
  • Working days: Tuesday and Wednesday  
  • Level 3/4: $67,214 - $85,682 (pro-rata) + 17% Superannuation.
  • Position Description 
  • Location: Based at Liverpool Campus with a requirement to travel to Wollongong and Sutherland campuses on occasion
  • Valid Australian work rights required. Visa sponsorship is not available 


Special Job Requirements

  • This position requires a pre-employment medical be undertaken to demonstrate satisfactory fitness to undertake the physical requirements of this position.
  • This position is not suitable for remote work in accordance with the UOW Remote Working Guidelines.
  • May be required to work outside of standard business hours or occasionally weekends, as dictated by the Laboratory Timetable and operational requirements
