The Medical Billing Specialist is responsible for preparing and submitting accurate insurance claims to third-party payers while ensuring compliance with regulations. The role involves monitoring accounts receivable, resolving billing discrepancies, and managing patient statements to maximize reimbursement.
Candidates must have a high school diploma and 3 to 5 years of medical billing experience, with a preference for an associate's degree or certification. Proficiency in ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, and FQHC guidelines is required.

Under the supervision of the Medical Billing Supervisor, the Medical Billing Specialist is responsible for preparing and submitting timely and accurate insurance claims to third-party payers, ensuring compliance with payer regulations and billing requirements, and verifying that payments and adjustments are accurately applied to patient accounts. This position is also responsible for conducting timely follow-up on outstanding claims, resolving billing discrepancies, and supporting revenue cycle operations to maximize reimbursement while maintaining compliance with applicable federal, state, and organizational regulations.
